YarMakers

WELCOME:

YarMakers was established as a dynamic program centred on creativity and resilience, drawing inspiration from Great Yarmouth's rich tradition of skilled craftsmanship, its history of productive industry, and a commitment to ongoing innovation.

Developing since 2023, it has grown into a thriving creative community, connecting people through a diverse range of FREE workshops, talks, socials, and events. Creative practitioners and residents alike have explored new activities together, developing new skills and strengthening existing ones.

This initiative has also encouraged us to rethink PrimeYarc’s potential as a multi-functional creative hub for the community—one that fosters connection, experimentation, and hands-on making.

We have ambitious plans to continue this work, and we're excited to see the workshop in use and the equipment activated, with the creative community thriving. Join us in this creative community venture, where every contribution helps craft a brighter future for us all!

Young YarMakers Friday Art Club

Every Friday during term time in 2025, 3.30-5.30pm (+ Summer Activities)

PrimeYarc, Market Gates Shopping Centre, Great Yarmouth
FREE, Ages 12–16

  • A hands-on, creative programme where young people can:
  • Create their own artworks
  • Organise & showcase them in an exhibition at PrimeYarc
  • Work alongside professional artists
  • Gain real-world experience in art-making, exhibition planning & delivery
  • Explore careers in art, design & beyond!

Attend as many or as few sessions as you like—every session is unique!

We’ve been building a resource hub to support our workshop programme and serve the making needs of the Great Yarmouth community.

Whether you’re into sewing, woodwork, 3D design, laser cutting, vinyl cutting or using our 3D printer – we’ve got the tools and the know-how to help you bring your ideas to life.

Get in touch to find out how you can access the space through guided workshops, 1:1 assistance from our friendly specialists, or just drop in during our opening hours. We’re developing our service offer and can provide our time, expertise, and materials at agreeable rates.

And if you’re a maker, artist, or specialist with a passion to share, we’d love to meet you and explore ways to involve you in our programme.

Join the Steering Group

Established Saturday 14 October


The project invites members of the community to plan and shape our activities and events. In our first meeting in October, we discussed the programme's aims and objectives together.

  • Make a Friendly Space: Help ideas grow and Connect people in a lasting way.
  • Everyone Plans Together: Join in planning our workshops and events.
  • Learn New Skills: Boost confidence through creative and life skills.
  • Know About the Environment: Share why resilience is important.
  • Connect with Everyone: Reach out beyond our group.

The steering group will meet again on January 24th to discuss the ongoing programme and volunteering opportunities for 2024.
