originalprojects; is an artist-led organisation based in the East Coast town of Great Yarmouth.
originalprojects; works with contemporary artists and communities in Great Yarmouth, co-creating ambitious objects, experiences and developmental activities that respond to the place and people, building relationships for a sustainable future.
Established in 2016, originalprojects; have developed a distinctive approach to working with artists in a range of local communities to explore relationships between generosity, creativity and place. Our projects unlock creative opportunities supporting everyone to learn new skills, build confidence and thrive through experiencing sustainable and pioneering great art.
Activity includes:
Exhibitions, studio provision, space for community engagement, showcasing local makers, workshops, public commissions, conferences, podcasts, a sonic arts festival and gastronomic events; all delivered in partnership with peers, artists, learning providers, other cultural organisations, community and voluntary sector and local businesses.

Directors:
Kaavous Clayton and Julia Devonshire.
Kaavous is an artist-curator. He has worked as a gallery and project curator for public and cross-county projects in the eastern region. He has been involved in the development of community-focused initiatives that provide space for locals to share thinking, test ideas and exchange knowledge, leading to stronger and more vibrant communities that are more resilient, independent and better able to support themselves in the delivery of ambitious home-grown projects.
Julia is a cultural producer. She has worked in contemporary art, heritage and cultural development roles across East Anglia’s public sector, academic and artist-led settings. Her place-based practice supports grassroots, culture-led regeneration activity and enterprise, and seeks to broker innovative linkages between ideas, people and initiatives, whilst championing and supporting the development of local talent to help positive growth from within.
